At a district secretariat meeting held in Alappuzha on Saturday, party leaders discussed strategies to prevent a possible shift of cadre towards Sudhakaran’s camp.
Though G Sudhakaran lodged complaints with the party leadership, neither the district committee nor the state leadership publicly responded to the attacks, which he said upset him deeply.
Guarded in his responses, the veteran leader also chose to play down whether his decision to contest as an independent from Ambalappuzha assembly constituency would affect the LDF.
Stating that he does not wish to cause difficulty to the leaders by continuing in the party, Sudhakaran said he has voluntarily decided not to renew his membership during the scrutiny period.
