The case dates back to May 8, 2018, when Gandhi allegedly referred to Shah as a “murder accused” at a political rally in Bengaluru during the Karnataka Assembly elections.
Punjab Congress president Pargat Singh confirmed Gandhi’s visit, saying it would provide fresh direction and momentum to the party’s campaign from the Malwa region.
CTI chairman Brijesh Goyal said the rally could affect wholesale and retail markets around Ramlila Maidan at a time when traders expect heavy customer footfall ahead of Dhanteras and Diwali.
