The two accused, Ashok Yadav and Matlu Mahto alias Navneet Kumar Narottam, have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. A third accused, Ravikant Kumar, is evading arrest.
Police said the woman belongs to West Bengal. Initial investigation revealed her husband works as a mason and stays in Krishnapuri area within Chandaka police limits here.
The judge also ordered the state to pay the woman survivor a compensation of Rs 7 lakh, and her male friend, who had been assaulted by the trio, Rs 2 lakh.
The incident occurred in a tribal-dominated village under the Punasa police station limits. The elderly woman, who lives alone, was reportedly asleep after dinner when the accused entered her house.
Meanwhile, a day before the woman filed the complaint, one of the suspects filed a complaint at the Malleswaram police station, accusing her and others of extortion.
