Assam floods: 5 dead, nearly 6.47 lakh people affected in 22 districts

Assam's monsoon flood situation continued to worsen on September 1st. Over 6.47 lakh people were affected in 22 of the state's 34 districts. Officials with the ASDMA reported 2 more drownings in Majuli and Barpeta districts, bringing the death toll since August 30 to 5.
