Sudha paid the property tax of about Rs 6,400 after five months of delay on May 8 according to her submission to the ombudsman.
Shivakumar said every property has to be scrutinised to know if its owner is paying tax accordingly or evading it.
Separate drafts to cater to seven registration districts of Bengaluru Urban and Rural were issued on September 8. September 23 is the deadline given for people to file their objections.
As of October last year, only around 35% of the taxpayers paid property taxes online while the remaining collections were through tax collectors.
Oberoi also said the tax collection was higher than that of 2021 and 2022. In 2021-22, Rs 695 crore was collected as property tax, while Rs 540 crore was collected in 2020-21.
If half-yearly tax is not paid on time, civic body will levy 1% SI per month until dues are paid
