Joe Biden will be the new US President.
At least, according to all prominent US media outlets, after they called Pennsylvania for the Democratic candidate.
The projection of at least 273 electoral college votes for Biden came about an hour after President Donald Trump proclaimed victory - "BY A LOT" - on his favourite stomping ground Twitter.
With this win for Democrats, Kamala Harris will be the nation’s first Black and South Asian vice president, and first woman to hold that office.
As we had reported earlier, longtime Biden aide Ted Kaufman is leading efforts to ensure the former vice president can begin building a government. These efforts should now gather steam.

Claiming that the votes were received illegaly post 'voting time' on Election Day, Trump has tweeted baseless claims.
He said that in many states that flipped, including Pennsylvania, counting was not allowed to be "observed," with yet again, zero evidence to show.

As the elections enter a critical juncture with Biden only needing to win over one more state to touch 270, let's look at crucial problems that may crop up if the Democrat wins.
Trump has already put on a show in the last two days in what looked like frustration from losing the lead in key states like Georgia, and Pennsylvania.
He has threatened with legal action and recounts in each of these states (The States have own laws on permitting recounts) while even calling for a full halt to vote counting.
Again, as of now, there is no clear winner. But, chances are high for the Democrat as it is unlikely for the key states to flip over to red even if there's a recount. All eyes are on Pennsylvania now.

Democrat Joe Biden is now leading President Donald Trump in the battleground state of Georgia.
Neither candidate has reached the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the White House.
But Biden eclipsed Trump in Wisconsin and Michigan, two crucial Midwestern battleground states, overtook the president in Georgia early Friday and was inching closer to doing the same in Pennsylvania, where votes are still being counted, according to The Associated Press.
Thousands of ballots are still left to be counted — many in counties where the former vice president was in the lead.
There is a potential that the race could go to a recount. Under Georgia law, if the margin between Biden and Trump is under half a percentage point of difference, a recount can be requested.

Joe Biden and Donald Trump running close as there're only 665 votes yet to be counted, according to CNN. Georgia has been a Republican stronghold in the previous elections, and losing it would be a huge blow to Trump. The President needs Georgia and Pennsylvaniya to reach 270.
Groups of Trump supporters have gathered at vote tabulation sites in Phoenix, Detroit and Philadelphia, decrying counts that showed Democrat Joe Biden leading or gaining ground.
While the protests have not been violent or very large, local officials were distressed by the crowds and concerned about the relentless accusations.
While vote count is still in progress in these states, here's where the two candidates stand right now:
Georgia: Joe Biden is trailing by 1,775 votes
Pennsylvania: Joe Biden is trailing by 18,042 votes.
Arizona: Donald Trump is trailing by 46,257 votes.
Facebook on Thursday banned a large group called 'Stop the Steal' that supporters of President Donald Trump were using to organise protests against the presidential vote count.
Some members had called for violence, while many falsely claimed that Democrats are 'stealing' the election from Republicans.
Though the group amassed more than 350,000 members before Facebook took it down, it was just one of several smaller groups that popped up as vote counting extended for days in several battleground states.
In an apparent attack on popular Indian-American Republican politician Nikki Haley, Donald Trump Jr has accused that "2024 GOP hopefuls" are "sitting on the sidelines" and not speaking out against the "fraud" in counting of votes as claimed by his father and US President Donald Trump.

A state that was once leaning heavily red, now has a paper-thin majority for Trump by only 1,775 votes. 99 per cent counting has been completed. Which way will it go?
Donald Trump is leading in the state with almost 42,000 votes. Joe Biden however, has been winning the mail-in ballot counts by huge margins and could very well take the state. Pennsylvania backed Trump in the 2016 presidential election but voted for the Democratic candidate in 2012, 2008, 2004 and 2000.
