Diamond Harbour legislator Dipak Haldar is likely to switch to BJP during a rally at Baruipur in South 24-Parganas on Thursday.
Bhattacharya is the legislator of Santipur constituency in West Bengal's Nadia district.
State ministers Arup Biswas and Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, who are local MLAs, led the rally that was scheduled from Tollygunge metro station to Rashbehari but went ahead till Hazra Park.
The roadshow, which commenced at Tollygunge tram depot, was set to culminate at Rashbehari Avenue -- often referred to as the backyard of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Addressing a rally here, Banerjee said that she is not worried about those jumping to other parties as when TMC was formed none of them were there, in a reference to rebels who have joined BJP.
