Despite the stupendous success of YS Sharmila’s Khammam meeting, political circles are abuzz with the discussion as to whether there is space for new parties in the State.
According to her close aides, Sharmila will raise the issues faced by turmeric farmers, podu land row, and the need for minimum support price for all crops, in the meeting on Friday.
She said that her father, the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, had developed Medak district sanctioning an IIT and expanding the ORR to change the face of the district.
According to the conditions, the meeting can be organised only between 6 pm and 9 pm, with a maximum footfall of 6,000 people.
YS Sharmila on Wednesday said she would contest from the Palair Assembly constituency of Khammam district in the next Assembly elections.
Sharmila is pinning high hopes on Khammam district to serve as her political springboard as YSRC won Khammam MP and two MLA seats in 2014 elections.
