HYDERABAD: Two medical students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh met watery grave in the Dnieper river in Ukraine while trying to save their drowning friend. The two deceased students — Pinninti Shivakanth Reddy and Ashok   — were pursuing MBBS in Zaporozhye State Medical University in Ukraine. Shivakanth Reddy was from Kuntloor village, near Hayathnagar of Hyderabad and Ashok was a native of Railway Koduru in Kadapa district of AP.


Four years ago, the two students went to Ukraine after they got admission to pursue MBBS in Zaporozhye State Medical University. Shivakanth Reddy was to graduate as a doctor in two months and planned to go to Germany for higher studies. Ram Charan Saladi, representative of Telugu Association in Ukraine, said arrangements were being made to send the youngsters’ bodies to Hyderabad.
