FILM: Yodha (Kannada) Cast: Darshan, Nikhita, Ashish Vidyarthi, Lokanath, Srinivasamurthy, Kokila Sadhu, Rahul Dev, Sobharaj, RK Mattoo Director: Om Prakash Rao YODHA is a remake of the Tamil film Bose. The strong point of this film is that it has the potential not only to cater to the needs of Darshan’s fans but also to a family audience. It has a number of emotional sequences apart from action scenes. A scene where Srinivasamurthy thrashes Darshan and later repents is a particularly touching scene.

Darshan has done an excellent job.

Nikita’s performance, especially her encounter with naughty Kokila Sadhu, is a treat to watch. Nikita seems to be running or dancing at the drop of a hat throughout the film. Senior artistes Lokanath and Srinivasamurthy have p r o - vided a good support. Sobharaj and Ashish Vidyarthi are convincing as the bad guys. The choice of RK Matto as an Army officer is apt but his role is brief. Avinash has also acted well.

The story goes thus: Ram (Darshan) is a Captain in the Army. He happens to rescue Patil (Ashish Vidyarthi), a politician, from terrorists. His officer Kariyappa (Avinash) assigns him to protect Patil from terrorists. While on duty, he sees Patil attempting to molest Asha. Circumstances compel Ram to shoot Patil. Military officials court martial him for shooting Patil.

Ram returns to Bangal o r e and joins his parents. Meanwhile, Patil recovers from bullet injures. He wants to eliminate Ram.

Finally, how Ram join hands with Asha and how he teaches Patil a lesson is the climax. The film ends with Ram re-joining the army. The music of the film by Hamsalekha is good. All-in-all the film is a worth watch for all.
