BANGALORE: With the Aero India 2011 featuring some of the biggest defence and aviation companies and their top products, Indian organisations too plan to put their best foot forward.

The organisations like the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) that have recently reasserted their prowess to be at par with these organisations will ensure that their reputation is vindicated.

It will hand over the first five Advanced Light Helicopters (ALHs) Dhruv, Mark III, at the aero show. The first five ALHs of the 159 ALH programmes, with more powerful Shakti Engine, would be handed over to the Indian Army.

The five ALHs would be delivered as it has successfully completed all prescribed tests and certifications. This comes after the Initial Operation Clearance (IOC) handed over to the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA).

"The first five ALHs powered with the Shakti Engines will be delivered during Aero India," said a source in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

Adding that this would be the first delivery of the 159 ALHs ordered so far, they said the others would be delivered in due course.

HAL's designs

l HAL will also hand over the Cheetah helicopters to the Namibian Air Force. The chairman of HAL would hand over the helicopters to a highpowered delegation from the Ministry of Defence, Namibia.

l The Light Utility Helicopter is a new generation helicopter, which will weigh three tonne. It is being designed by HAL to serve both military and the civil operation requirements. The chopper is powered by a single turbo shaft engine with adequate power to accomplish high altitude missions with ease.

l The HAL stall would also display the Fixed Base Full Mission Simulator of Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT) simulator. The Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) will also make its first flight during Aero India 2011. The second prototype will be unveiled.
