Commuters pit stop to see ‘car in the air’

Express News Service

Commuters passing through Jayamahal Underpass near Cantonment Railway Station on Friday morning found a car in a nose-dived position on the ground and with the rear portion up in the air.

It took them several minutes to realise it was an unusual awareness campaign for www.ichangemycity.com, an  online portal launched by Janaagraha, an NGO.Spokespersons from Janaagraha said the campaign aimed to attract attention of the commuters to the challenges faced in the city.

“The site is a hyper local participatory platform. It combines their decade-long experience of social change on the ground, with the power of internet technology and online social networks, to create a unique first-of-its-kind personalised social change network.”

However, the unusual campaign also led to slow vehicular movement in the area, as the curious crowd were seen taking pictures of the car and were engrossed in a long debate over the ‘accident.’
