Death is a process of unsheathing

Anil Sharma

Death is a name given to explain a certain phenomenon.  Life has many phases and one transitory phase is called death.  Nothing really dies — though everything experiences a change of form and activity.  There has always existed a definite body of knowledge about the superphysical regions that are entered at the time of death.  Such information has been accumulating for ages from many sources.  Studies of comparative ancient and modern sciences and religions have yielded rich stores of knowledge that have been further confirmed by direct observation through the use of powers that are latent in all humans, and are awakened in some - powers such as extra-sensory perception and even subtle kinds of direct knowing.  This accumulated knowledge, together with its philosophical implications, constitutes what is termed as the ancient wisdom of mankind. From this source may be derived a kind of mapping of the route which one follows upon leaving the physical world at death.

Death consists of a repeated process of unrobing, or unsheathing. At death one sheds the physical body and takes on the emotional body, one leaves the physical world and enters the next world known as the astral world.  One who has realised by logic and personal experience that death does not lead to annihilation  but leads to a vastly extended freedom  of life, need not fear the casting away of one’s physical body at death.

The truth is that there is no death but there is only everlasting life. Listen to this wisdom in silence, for there alone can its vibrations reach your ears.  Affirm- there is no death but only life - Everlasting Life.  The statement appears to be true in every respect and every aspect of its meaning.

The law of correspondences: Prior to embarking on a journey to understand the realms of life and death before birth it is essential to gain a basic understanding of certain cosmic principles on which these regions have been modelled.  Two such cosmic principles are the law of correspondences or analogy and the law of cause and effect.  The law of correspondences tells us that everything contained in the realms of life after death has a corresponding equivalent in the human body.

Hence it is essential for one to observe and study one’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual make up. In addition a study of the nature and environment that surrounds one and the correlation to the regions of life beyond death helps one to gain a good understanding of the mysterious planes of life and existence beyond death.

The human organism is a microcosm, an exact replica of the universe or macrocosm.  Hence between man and the universe there are points and zones which correspond. Not only the whole of esoteric science but also the study of the realms of life after death is based on this law of correspondences.  Man is infinitely small while the cosmos is infinitely vast, but between them there is a correspondence.  Thanks to this law, one can establish contact with forces, centres and worlds in the regions of life after death which correspond to certain elements within a human being. Based on this law, the physical body of man corresponds to the physical plane.  The feelings, emotions and desires of man correspond to the plane of desires or astral world, the thoughts and intellect of man correspond to the mental plane and so on.
