You have two educational institutions under the Bangalore International Group of Institutions. Tell us about the main aim of these two institutions.
The aim has been to impart quality education to boys and girls and to prepare them to face the challenges of the future and become useful citizens of our country. Intellectual, social, moral, emotional and cultural development of the child is our goal. All curricular and co-curricular activities are planned with these principles to develop a complete, integrated personality in the child. A special feature of our school is to work individually with each child in the primary and nursery sections, based on sound principles of educational psychology. These planned exercises help motivate, drill and reinforce concepts of learning in the minds of young children. Curricular and co-curricular activities are also designed with these ideas, to draw out the potential in each child.
What are your prime objectives?
The main objective is to foster values of life in the child’s training programme at all levels, ensuring the promotion of rich Indian values. We strive to be known for excellence in teaching, by providing students with the highest quality instruction, library and lab resources required for comprehensive learning and bringing out the hidden talents of the students. We also aim to direct the potential of the students and helps them realise their capabilities by presenting them numerous opportunities in various fields. We recognise quest of knowledge, enlightenment and truth as the highest goals of life.
What are your current focus areas?
We are now looking at the affordability issue in education while maintaining high quality education and infrastructure. The result is Bangalore International Kids High, a new school. It will follow CBSE International syllabus. The vision is to follow the government of India’s aim to reach out to the common man and make education affordable while maintaining high level of quality.
When do you plan to open the school?
We plan to open for the academic year 2015-16.
Tell us about the recent activities undertaken by your school.
We keep doing some or the other activity with the students. Recently we had the Clean India initiative and it is a monthly activity now. Apart from that we have regular events involving students which aim at personality development, group interaction, team work, etc. We are also looking at an international exchange programme and are working with the British Council. Previously, we had about 45 principles from schools around the world meeting at our school.
After the unfortunate incidents in few schools, what are the measures taken up by your school?
We are an international school not just for the sake of it. We live the global format of education everyday. We installed CCTV cameras and GPS technology almost three years ago, while people are just talking about it after the unfortunate incidents. Profiling of teachers and other staff members has been a continuous process with our schools, going on for the past 15 years. After the unfortunate incidents, we have reduced the number of male helpers in lower classes. We do not believe in a ban on male teachers. We also offer educational counselling for high schools boys and girls.
How tech savvy is your school?
Technologically we are quite with the times and probably ahead too. We are the first school in the city to provide Mac education. We have a lab with 45 Mac machines.
