Chennai Public School Holds Fourth Annual Sports Meet

CHENNAI: Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai celebrated its fourth annual Sports Day on January 24 on the school grounds. 

A hoarding at the entrance of the school welcomed parents and students, and multi-coloured flags were placed around the campus.

The day began with a prayer followed by a welcome speech by Principal Stella Pauline Punitha. Chief guest M Ravi, Chief Vigilance Officer at the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited, Chennai, declared the meet open.

The school showcased a plethora of events. Students from the primary section were part of several programmes. Senior students performed martial arts, aerobics and formed a human pyramid. There were track and field events. Fathers of the students participated in a 200-metre marathon and mothers took part in a walking race.

The prize distribution ceremony started with the championship award that went to Diadem House. The true spirit of sportsmanship was seen when the members of other houses applauded the champion house.

The best players and promising players received medals at the end of the event. Certificates and trophies were given out to the winners of other categories.
