UN’s Training and Research institute comes to Bengaluru

BENGALURU: The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) launched its 16th international research centre and the first in India, called CIFAL Bengaluru.

This venture is a partnership with ACTS Group of Institutions. CIFAL stands for Centre International de Formation des Authorites et Leaders’ (in French), and is a training arm of the United Nations. It is mandated to enhance the effectiveness of the UN to increase the impact of national actions through public awareness, education and training. CIFAL Bengaluru will conduct programmes in areas of economic development, social inclusion, gender equality, and environmental sustainability.
