BENGALURU:Three-year-old Devika, who was inured in the LPG leakage mishap in T Dasarahalli on Thursday, succumbed to severe burn injuries at Victoria Hospital on Friday. Six others are still being treated at the same hospital and two of them are said to be critical.

Nine people, including four children, were injured following an explosion owing to a suspected LPG leakage at a house in the early hours of Thursday. Five of their relatives had arrived at Devaraj’s house to spend the summer vacation just a few minutes before the accident took place.

The deceased, Devika, was daughter of Devaraj and Lakshmi and was enrolled at an anganwadi. The condition of her mother Lakshmi, 34,  and her cousin Alavelamma, 7, is still critical. The injured — Somashekar, 15,  Niranjan Babu, 9, Venkatesh, 38, Maheshwari, 32 and Honnurappa — are recovering.
A police officer said, “The medical officials from Victoria Hospital confirmed the death of Devika in the early morning and the body was shifted for   autopsy.”
