BENGALURU: Battery-operated buggy carts, a big boon for the disabled and senior citizens, has commenced operations in Yeswanthpur Railway station recently, said Divisional Railway Manager R S Saxena. The facility is already available for passengers at the Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (Bengaluru City) station.

Briefing newspersons after inaugurating a pet bottle crushing machine on Platform One of the KSR station as part of the Bengaluru Railway Division’s Environment Day celebrations, Saxena said four such buggies have begun operations last month.  

According to a senior railway official, it is available round-the-clock on this number: 8105777772. Seven such carts are operating at the Bengaluru City station with each ride costing D 20.The cost of each of these machines is  D 4.5 lakh. Bottle crushers are also being installed in Bengaluru Cantonment,Yesvantpur and Krishnarajapuram railway stations.
