Benny Dayal, singer

''I can't vote here because my electoral base is in Kerala. However sometimes I regret it and sometimes I don't. I see a lot of youngsters coming up to the forefront this time and that's one reason why I feel sad that I can't vote. At the same time, seeing the amount of violence that's happening around in the name of politics, I feel it's good that I can’t vote. However, I haven’t tried to change my electoral base because it’s a long process and my profession keeps me busy. But I strongly believe it's my duty to vote.''

Cary Edwards, former VJ

“I'm from Bengaluru and I can't vote here. Sadly, I can't vote even in Bengaluru because my name is not there on the list. I tried getting it done, but in vain. Yes, I would love to vote in Chennai, because I've been living here for the past five years. Every vote counts, because at the end of the day, you can call it a democratic election only if everyone votes.''

Dheena, RJ

''Salem is my hometown and I can vote only there. So I send my votes via post. I would love to vote in Chennai as I have settled here. But because I don't have a proper proof of residence, I can't get my voter's ID.''

Sangavi, actor

''I want to cast my vote desperately but I can't. I'm basically from Mysore. Even there I didn't have a voter's ID. And, I am still waiting to cast my first vote. It's been more than 14 years since I've settled in Chennai along with my family, but none of us have voter's IDs here. We're trying to get them and it's getting delayed. Hope I will be able to cast my vote in the next elections. It was only in Nadigar Sangam election last year I was able to cast my vote and I was so happy.”

Sonia Agarwal, actor

''I’m basically from Punjab and I've never used to vote. I recently tried getting voter's ID. My manager is still trying. I’m not sure whether I will be able to vote for this election. But I'm sure I will cast my vote next time.''

Sandra, actor

''I know it's our basic right to vote but I can't vote. I'm basically from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. I had my voter's ID there. It's been one and half years since I've been married to actor Prajan and I'm trying to shift my electoral base here. I thought of going to Kerala to cast my vote but due to a very busy schedule I was not able to. But, I'm sure next time I will get my ID and vote here.''

Toshila, RJ

''My constituency is in Thammampatti. However, I do regret the fact that, I can’t vote here. I was trying to change my electoral base. But I couldn’t do it because the process is very slow here. It was my brother who ran around trying to get it done. He said that I can probably vote in the next elections. However, I guess just because I can't vote here, it doesn't make a difference to the system. But though I am not interested in politics, I would love to vote.''

Dharshini, RJ

My constituency is Madurai and so, I can’t vote here. I didn’t take any steps to change my electoral base because I am not interested in voting. I don’t believe in the politicians and I believe my vote is not going to make any difference. The system is so corrupt and if we need change, the whole system needs to be changed. I see these elections as a waste of time. What’s the use to elect such corrupt people?
