Somany Ceramics Ltd, a leading player in the Indian ceramic industry, has unveiled one more innovative product called Anti-bacterial Tiles. These tiles are not only hygienic in nature, but also have ample features making the product perfect for a living space.The anti-bacterial tiles are manufactured using the anti-bacterial technology which kills the germs in the environment. These tiles significantly cut some of the most polluting agents present in the air and also reduce the odour in the air. By laying the anti-bacterial tiles, one does not need to rely completely upon anti-germ cleaners. This technology will allow the ceramic material to be treated as an active agent that boasts of anti-bacterial properties which would help reduce pollution and nitrogen oxide.

These tiles are perfect for both interior and exterior applications and can be used for homes, hotels, hospitals, departmental store, other residential and commercial complexes and outdoors like swimming pool, corridors, lobbies, etc. According to Abhishek Somany, JMD, Somany Ceramics Ltd, “At Somany we always put customer delight first and with the launch of the anti-bacterial tile range, we hope the product will find patronage among the users. The anti-bacterial tiles eliminate the risk of live microbial organisms in one’s space.” He also said, “This tile is an extremely important asset for maintaining the high level of hygiene, thereby making a substantial contribution in creating a better atmosphere and a cleaner environment.”

The price varies between `35 and `40 per sq ft and the anti-bacterial tiles are available in a variety of designs and shades. One can choose the tiles that fit best to the desired space, be it indoor application or exteriors. The entire range of Somany Anti-Bacterial tiles is available at all Somany display centres, Somany Exclusive showrooms and dealers’ showrooms across the country.

Incorporated as Somany Pilkington’s in 1969 by H L Somany, it later came to be known as Somany Ceramics Limited. In 1971, the very first unit of Somany started production in Kassar, Haryana, and the second unit was set up in 1981 in Kadi, Gujarat. Somany achieved government recognition for its R&D Department in 1996 (a first in the tile industry) and was the first tile company to be awarded ISO 9002 certification in 1998. It also achieved ISO 14001 for environment-friendly facilities. Somany also holds patent rights for Veilcraft Technology, which renders a specially treated coating that protects each tile against abrasion, scratches and stains.
