CHENNAI: The Madras HC allowed K P Sankar, ex-DMK minister K P P Samy’s brother, to take oath as councillor of Tiruvottiyur on October 29. He was elected from ward 5 to the Corporation.

CHENNAI: The Madras HC allowed K P Sankar, ex-DMK minister K P P Samy’s brother, to take oath as councillor of Tiruvottiyur on October 29. He was elected from ward 5 to the Corporation.

He was lodged in the Vellore Prison in connection with a 2006 murder.  Justice S Palanivelu directed the prison superintendent to take Sankar to the Corporation for the  oath-taking and participating in the Deputy Mayor’s poll at 9.30 am. He should be brought before the superintendent the same day.
