On his 73rd birthday on Friday, three Tamil books by Nalli Kuppusamy Chetty titled, Vetrikku Moondre Padigal, Needhi Noolgalil Nirvagam and Padagacheri Mahan were launched in the city.

While Nalli Kuppusamy Chetty is known for his successful business in textile industry, his creative side of a writer and an eloquent speaker hasn’t been discussed much. In the three books, Vetrikku Moondre Padigal is about the lessons he learnt as an entrepreneur and Needhi Noolgalil Nirvagam is about his incisive analysis of administration that he gathered from several works of literature. Padagacheri Mahan narrates the life and times of the saint. “Most of us do not know Padagacheri Swamigal. He was a saint who performed many miracles and renovated temples,” Chetty said.

Padagacheri Swamigal is a saint born in Manjampalayam, Coimbatore district. After he lost his parents at an early age he met Sri Eridhadha Swamigal who took him under his wing. Later, he moved to Padagacheri in Kumbakonam and lived there for many years.

During his stay in Padagacheri he performed Bhairava Poojas, annadhanams and cured people of their diseases.

Releasing the books, K P K Vasuki, Judge, Madras High Court said, “Administration, marketing and employees welfare are the three mantras, which Nalli says in his book, are key to success. We all should learn from his experience.”

“When the mind is clear, age is no impediment to success. This applies to both Nalli and I,” said veteran Carnatic vocalist M Balamurali Krishna, who received the first copies.
