Annual Cado Fest celebrated

The Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University organised the annual Cado Fiesta, an an inter-college National Cadet Corps (NCC) competition here on Thursday and Friday. About 400 cadets belonging to 17 colleges across the city participated in the various events.

The Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University organised the annual Cado Fiesta, an an inter-college National Cadet Corps (NCC) competition here on Thursday and Friday. About 400 cadets belonging to 17 colleges across the city participated in the various events.

S Rajendran, Additional Director General Police, state traffic planning cell, inaugurated the two-day fest. Each college had around 50 cadets competing in the cultural and drill events. The drill events that were conducted included Contingent, Guard and Individual Drill, Kholna Jodhna, debate and GK IQ test.

Also, a cross-country race was conducted for men and women separately. Cultural events such as group song, solo dance, group dance and skit were also conducted.

Prizes were distributed at the valedictory function held on Friday. C K Gandhirajan, ADGP, prohibition and enforcement, distributed the prizes, medals and certificates. V Vijayakumar, Vice-Chancellor, Law University; M S Soundra Pandian, director, School of Excellence of Law; P Vanagamudi, dean, Distance education and Lt D Jaisankar, associate NCC officer also participated.
