Chennaiites Run Womanathon

CHENNAI: Hordes of Chennaiites ran a Womanathon early on Sunday on the Marina to mark International Women’s Day. Organised by Quanta-G, the Womanthon was simultaneously held in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. “People who can do most to improve the situation of so many women and girls against sexual violence are in fact men. Being safe is important that anything else for a woman in the society ,” said Dinesh Raj, managing director of Quanta-G. “This run is our pledge to respect women and help to create a safe society. Respecting women is not a choice,” said Vimala Britto, chairperson of Seek Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, which is the beneficiary of the proceeds from the run.
