CHENNAI: Veteran film director MR Viswanathan (70), well known as Visu, joined the BJP on Saturday in the presence of Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan at party office at Chennai.
He joined the AIADMK on April 26, 2006 after meeting AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa at Erode. He was anchoring a talk show - Visuvin Makkal Arangam in Jaya TV for a long time.
For quite some time, he was not active in political arena. He has directed and acted in over 70 films.
