HYDERABAD: A day after police found a woman's dead body in a suitcase at the busy Mehadipatnam bus stop, doctors have said the victim was murdered almost two days ago.

Police believe the dead body was kept in cold storage for two days by the killers before it was stuffed into the suitcase.

Before the postmortem, the sleuths had been under the impression that the murder took place a few hours before they discovered the body.

In the report, doctors of Osmania General Hospital confirmed the woman died due to strangulation. "There has been no headway in the investigation as the woman could not be identified," Asif Nagar division assistant commissioner of police LT Chandrashekar told Express.

Meanwhile, police said in a press release that the height of the woman is 4.5 feet and she has a mole on the right side of her navel.

"Two ladies left the suitcase near the bus stop after getting down from a white Indica car,'' the press release said.

The incident had come to light after a local informed police about an abandoned suitcase near the bus stop.
