HYDERABAD: Creative Multimedia Education Society (CMES) organized

Life: The Golden Season, a charity art show in aid of socially deprived

elders. A collection of pencil sketches, photo-realistic portraits

with old age as the common theme, recreated by CMES students were

displayed at the gallery.

All portraits are up for sale and the entire proceeds will benefit the inmates of Trinity Service Society, an old-age home in Hyderabad.

The show was inaugurated by Dr Purandeswari, Union minister of State for Human Resource Development on Thursday at the ICCR Art Gallery, Ravindra Bharathi campus, Hyderabad.

CMES president Hyma Buggaveeti received Dr Purandeswari and presented

a bouquet following which the chief guest cut the ribbon and lit a flower-bedecked lamp to signify the inauguration of Life: The Golden Season. Hyma Buggaveeti accompanied Dr. Purandeswari around the gallery dotted with over 40 portraits created by CMES students as part of their intensive four-year animation programme.

Dr Purandeswari keenly observed the portraits created by CMES students

and said that the quality of art training is evident in the fact that students have successfully portrayed a range of emotions from despair to frustration and hope with professional flair. Referring to animation students of CMES, she said, “I

see many MF Hussains and Tyeb Mehtas in the making at this gallery.

With such immense talent, I believe that if students can work hard, there are no boundaries for acclaim and achievement.”

Dr Purandeswari was so highly appreciative of the initiative that she exclaimed: “I am fortunate to have attended this show, else I would have missed such a remarkable display of art by budding creative talent.”
