HYDERABAD: Dr Somdatta Sinha, senior scientist at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has been selected for the prestigious JC Bose National Fellowship 2011 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to theoretical biology, non-linear dynamics and complex systems. She has published more than 70 research articles in journals across the globe and has been actively contributing to the development of NCERT science textbooks and has also been working to spread inter-disciplinary nature of sciences.

The fellowship offered by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi, entitles the recipient to

Rs 25000 per month and a separate contingency of Rs 10 lakh per year for scientific research and is for a five-year term initially. Dr Sinha is the seventh scientist from the CCMB to be selected for the coveted fellowship in the last six years.
