ECIL constructs halls at 2 schools

Latha Priya Kumar, member of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes on Thursday inaugurated Multi-purpose halls in two government schools constructed by Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL).

The ECIL has constructed these halls as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The Hall at Mandal Parishad Upper Primary School (MPUPS), Harijanwada, Gandhinagar is constructed at a cost of `8 Lakhs and the hall at Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), Kushaiguda with `11 Lakhs. The halls will enable the students to have their mid-day meals and teachers to conduct special events & to teach with audio-visual aids.

Speaking on the occasion, Latha Priya Kumar thanked ECIL for providing infrastructure to schools which catered to the marginalised sections of society. She urged the students to take care of the furniture.

Explaining ECIL’s CSR activities, Maj Gen Sanjeev Loomba, acting chairman and managing director, ECIL and chairman of ECIL’s CSR committee, said that ECIL has earmarked more than `2 crore for improving infrastructure and imparting computer education in schools in the ECIL’s neighbourhood. GHMC corporators Kotha Rama Rao and Singireddy Dhanpal Reddy, P Sudhakar, director (technical) and Shri Ram Prasad, mandal education officer Keesara were present on the occasion.
