HYDERABAD:  Have trouble with RTC bus numbers and route plans to reach your destination within the city?

Help is at hand with city-based Ritkam Technology Consulting Pvt Ltd developing a mobile application that will allow commuters to find buses and stops from a source to destination.

Interestingly, the application -- FindBus@Hyd -- once downloaded on the phone runs without internet connectivity thus providing seamless information to users.

“This is a robust and easy to use Android phone app, Android tablet app and iPhone app that is easy to use and works even if the phone doesn’t have internet connection,” said Siddharam Shingshetty, Managing Director, Riktam Technology.

Giving details about the app, he said a user can access RTC bus information searching by bus number (displays the route for selected bus number), search by source and destination (displays various bus numbers plying between select stops, and if need to change a bus in between), search by route (displays list of bus numbers passing through a stop) besides showing stops near you (using internet).

“To enhance the application and make it user friendly, we intend to include information on bus frequency, travel duration to reach a destination and getting real time location of the bus, with the assistance from APSRTC,” said Siddharam adding that the company will add more features from time to time to enable users with relevant information.

Meanwhile, Ritkam, founded by two software professionals in 2007, claims to have garnered $1 million revenues so far and is targeting a growth rate of 30-40 per cent per annum.
