Kacheguda-Mangalore Central bi-weekly express was flagged off from Kacheguda railway station by MP M Anjan Kumar Yadav on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion,  Anjan Kumar said  that the new train fulfilled the long time demand of the people to have a direct train from Hyderabad  to Mangalore.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumnatha Rao thanked Union railway minister Mallikarjun Kharge and minister of state for railways Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy for their efforts in augmenting train services in this region.

SCR divisional railway manager, Hyderabad Division, Rakesh Aron said that the new train will cater to the passenger traffic bound for Mangalore and enroute. Running through four states viz., Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, the bi-weekly train would stop at 26 stations en-route, covering 1,531 km in 29 hrs. 

Kacheguda-Mangalore  express will resume service from Feb 28 and in the return direction, it will commence its regular service from Feb 26.
