DD Film Fete from Tomorrow

Doordarshan, Hyderabad is organising a two-day film festival titled “Best of Indian Cinema” to showcase internationally acclaimed films at the Prasad’s Preview Theatre, Banjara Hills, on July 12 and 13.

HYDERABAD: Doordarshan, Hyderabad is organising a two-day film festival titled “Best of Indian Cinema” to showcase internationally acclaimed films at the Prasad’s Preview Theatre, Banjara Hills, on July 12 and 13.

“A similar event was organised in Delhi in March this year. It is a privilege to host the event here,” said M Sailaja Suman, Deputy Director General, Doordarshan.

The six films that will be screened at the festival include Mee Sreyobhilashi (Telugu), Oruththi (Tamil) and Yenning Amadi Likla (Manipuri), which were showcased at the  Indian Panorama, International Film Festival of India. Besides these three, Herbert (Bengali) which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival, One More (Hindi) that was screened at Fribourg International Film Festival and Khargosh (Hindi) showcased at the Florence Indian Film and Festival Seattle International Film Festival will also be shown at the festival.

Directors of the featured films will also be attending the festival to have an interactive session with the audience. Students are also invited for the event along with film critics, senior officials from the Doordarshan Directorate and the State Government.

Entry is free and open to all.
