One killed as bike falls into under-construction subway in Hyderabad

 HYDERABAD: Hyderabad city’s roads have turned into deathtraps for bikers, yet again. A 23-year-old man died immediately on Monday while two of his friends received multiple injuries after their bike fell into a pit.

The pit was dug in the middle of the road for a subway at Chintalkunta, here. The accident occurred when the trio was proceeding from Chintalkunta check post towards Sagar Ring Road. 

According to Vanasthalipuram police, the victim, K Raghavender (23), from Badangpet in Meerpet police station limits, was going towards Sagar Ring Road along with two friends from Chintalkunta.  

At around. 2.30 am, the bike hit barricades erected for construction near Chintalkunta and fell into the pit. "Raghavender succumbed to his injuries on the spot while his friends- L Sai Kiran and E Ashok, residents of Badangpet, received severe injuries. They are admitted to Srikar hospital in LB Nagar and are stable," said Vanasthalipuram police.

Raghavender’s body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital and his parents have been alerted. A case under sections 304 A and 337 of the IPC has been registered for investigation, said police.
