HYDERABAD: Ten days after a car accident killed Sana Iqbal, a cross-country biker from Hyderabad, her husband Abdul Nadeem was arrested. He was produced before a local court which granted him bail. At the time of the accident, Nadeem was behind the wheel and police had booked him under IPC Setion 304A (causing death by negligence).

Sana’s family and friends had alleged role of Nadeem in Sana’s death citing various instances of marital discord. Sana had been living with her mother, away from Nadeem, for the last two years. In fact, earlier in May this year, Sana had approached police against her husband’s alleged harassment.

Following the accident, Nadeem, coming out of hospital, denied all allegations against him and even threatened to file criminal defamation suits against Sana’s family and friends for spreading rumours.
On Friday, the accused was arrested by the Narsingi police for ‘causing death of a person by doing any rash or negligent act.’  Since the IPC section 304A was a bailable offence, the accused was let off on bail.
