HYDERABAD: Yashoda Hospitals Group has installed India’s first 3T Intraoperative MRI recently, which helps make brain surgeries accurate, safe and without the necessity of multiple additional surgeries.

This advanced iMRI helps to change the way brain tumour surgery is performed currently. Furthermore, the ability of MRI to successfully couple with functional imaging (Perfusion and DTI Fibre track Imaging) neuroendoscopy and therapeutic devices, such as focussed ultrasound helps improve brain tumour therapy and outcomes.

Taking advantage of iMRI facility, surgeons at Yashoda Group of Hospitals have completed 100 complicated brain surgeries during the last few months.Ravin Kapadia, 34, a software engineer from UP is among the first to get surgery treatment for a brain tumour (Left frontotemporal craniotomy) with the assistance of iMRI.  He was operated on October 4, 2017 and discharged on the fifth day after surgery, and is leading a normal life now.

Vajramma, 72, had a residual tumour and surgeons operated upon it and removed it completely. She got discharged in a few days. The operating theatre at Yashoda Hospitals Neurosurgery department is specially designed and equipped with technically advanced iMRI, which uses the highest quality scanning sequences for up-to-the-minute images.
