ENGALURU: Mohammed Haris Nalapad’s bail petition hearing has been adjourned to Monday by the 63rd City Civil and Sessions Court, as the special prosecutor requested the court for more time to file objections against the bail plea. Meanwhile, advocate Alam Pasha has filed a petition seeking court’s permission to allow him to submit his observations on the case. The court has posted this to Saturday.
Mohammed Nalapad Haris and six of his associates were arrested on the charges of assaulting Vidvat Loganathan on February 17.

The court on Friday considered the appointment of M S Shyamsundar as Special Prosecutor in the Vidvat case after the state government issued a notification in this connection in the morning. The court directed the Special Prosecutor to file objections in the bail application filed by Mohammed Nalapad’s advocates.Meanwhile, the court is likely to pass an order on the impleading application filed by Alam Pasha in the case and judge Parameshwar Prasanna heard the impleading application. Pasha appealed to the court stating, “Being represented on behalf of NGO Helping Citizen and people’s court, to get impleaded in the Nalapad case, who attempted to kill a person in the public places. My apprehension is that the accused is facilitated with all powers by the state, the police who need to make a fair report to court is also by the state.

Now, the special prosecutor Shyamsundar is again by the state. I am not only concerned about the present victim, but also panicked by all the sons of powerful persons who may invade any family person at any private or public places to kill under the influence of power and illegal money. Ninety-eight percent of the accused in rapes, murders etc, are acquitted due to state weakness. My effort is nothing but public participation to check the heinous crimes by powerful people against the society.”
