HYDERABAD: Smoke billowed out of the bottom of the coach of Kacheguda - Bangalore Express near Uppuguda. It gave tense moments to passengers on Monday.

Due to friction in the brake binding system, a ‘waste oil or lubricants’ in the brake section of the coach caught fire. Stating that this was an isolated incident, officials categorically denied there was any lapse in safety measures.

The train was diverted to Falaknuma railway station and smoke was controlled with the fire tenders.   A team of technical experts rushed to the spot and rectified the fault, the said train services were completely restored within a few minutes.
