Justice LN Reddy named as new University of Hyderabad Chancellor

Former Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, Justice L Narasimha Reddy, has been appointed as Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad by President Ram Nath Kovind.

HYDERABAD:  Former Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, Justice L Narasimha Reddy, has been appointed as Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad by President Ram Nath Kovind, who is the Visitor of the university.Justice Reddy, who retired as the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court in July 2015, succeeds C Rangarajan.  Justice Reddy has been appointed for a period of three years.  Justice Reddy is also the Chairman of the Central Administrative Tribuna, for which Presidential approval was received just last week on June 28. He will hold office for a little over three years, till he attains the age of 68 on August 1, 2021. 

He was also appointed to head the one-man judicial committee to look into the implementation of One Rank One Pension scheme by the government. Recently, he was also in news after he declared G Vivekanand, former president of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) ineligible for the president’s post on grounds of conflict of interest and office of profit.
