HYDERABAD: Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar asserted that Telangana is set to become a role model for the nation with its comprehensive house-to- house survey, which aims to bring significant impact to peoples’ lives through government welfare programmes.

The minister, along with Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi and District Collector Anudeep Durishetty, participated in the survey at Enclave Apartments in NBT Nagar, Banjara Hills, on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Prabhakar said the survey was an essential step to understand the condition of people and bring about positive change through future initiatives.

The house identification programme began on November 6, followed by the survey on November 9. Prabhakar said over 85,000 enumerators are involved in the survey across the state. As of now, 30% of the survey is completed, with over 4.44 lakh houses surveyed within the GHMC limits.

He said the details collected will remain confidential and no government schemes will be cut from the survey. Prabhakar urged the public to remain vigilant against false information being spread through social media and not to believe in baseless propaganda regarding the survey.
