Suspicion clouds death of five-year-old in Telangana's Narayanpet

The child, who was staying with her grandparents and attending an Anganwadi centre, had slept outside the house with her grandmother.

HYDERABAD: A five-year-old girl was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Basireddy Pally village of Narayanpet late on Tuesday.

The child, who was staying with her grandparents and attending an Anganwadi centre, had slept outside the house with her grandmother. Around 1 am, two villagers returning from farm work noticed an unidentified body near a check dam and alerted locals.

The girl’s grandfather identified the body and brought it home. No visible injuries were found, though her anklets were missing while earrings remained.

Narayanpet Rural police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
