KOCHI: Recent studies carried out by the Sunrise Hospital Ernakulam have shown that keyhole surgeries are highly effective for curing diabetes, said a press
release.
More than 95 per cent of diabetic patients treated by keyhole surgery at
the hospital were fully cured, the release said. “The International Diabetes Federation has already pointed out how effective are such surgeries for diabetes. “In addition to diabetic control, the surgery has other benefits including weight loss and cholesterol control,” said Dr R Padmakumar, laparoscopic surgeon, Sunrise Hospital.
