An office of the SMS 80 Foundation was opened at Kadavanthra on July 8. Kochi Metro Rail Ltd Managing Director Tom Jose inaugurated the office.

Founder director of the Institute of Management in Government, committee members Dr Ramesh Babu (Secretary), Pradeep P R (treasurer), Tom George (member), K P Philip (member) and Dr James Manalel (School of Mangement Studies, Cusat) were present at the function.

SMS 80 is the brain child of a batch of students from the School of Management Studies(Cusat) who belonged to the 1978-80 batch.

The Charitable Society was formed under the Travancore- Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, X11 of 1955 on June 16.

The objective of the society is to provide a platform for the interaction of family members, to foster professional networking amongst the alumni and encouraging and facilitating the members to take up activities that are geared to improve society at large.
