KOCHI: The Amrita School of Medicine will be starting new bachelor courses, including BSc Allied Health Sciences, BSc Emergency Medical Services and Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, from the next academic year. The BSc Allied Health Sciences is a relatively new course in the country. Those who study it can become physician assistants, who are trained to provide support to diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive health care services in medical specialties.

The BSc Emergency Medical Services is also a new concept.

This course offers the initial resuscitation of patients who arrive in the emergency room. BSc Respiratory Therapy, BSc Optometry and BSc Medical Radiological Technology are the other courses offered by the Amrita School of Medicine.
