Makaramanju, a Malayalam film written and directed by Lenin Rajendran,  a will be screened in Kochi on August 23.

The screening will be held as part of the International film festival on Fridays as part of the year-long weekend art programme organized by the district administration. The film will be eighth and the first Malayalam feature film in the festival.

Ayyankali, a documentary film based on the life of the noted social reformist, produced by the Information and Public Relations Department, will be screened as part of his 151st birth day celebrations, prior to the screening of Makaramanju.The film is based on a certain period in the life of the celebrated painter Raja Ravi Varma. It also narrates the story of epic characters Pururuvasand Urvasi.  ENS
