Startup Comes up With Free-call App

KOCHI:  A Kochi-based startup has launched a mobile App that lets users call any phone number in the country free of cost. ‘Speakfree,’ the App launched by Sumbav Communications, does not require internet connection, and will be available on the Android platform. The App, which is currently available for download, allows users to make free calls from their smart-phones.

Speakfree was officially launched by District Collector M G Rajamanickam at a function held here on Saturday. Former Collector K R Vishwambharan made the first call.

The core team of the telecom startup comprises Muhammed Nasim, Ahamed Rafeeq, Hafeez Abdul Latheef, Valanto Alappatt and Sabu T Raghavan. The company is operating from the KInfra IT Park at Kalamassery.  The service will be available through all the telecom service providers in the State. Internet connection is required only for downloading the App, which needs to be installed only on the caller’s phone.
