Anilkumar T

The brutal murder of Jisha happened around 9 pm on April 28, the investigating officer told the Directorate of Medical Education officials, as per the post-mortem report in exclusive possession with the Express. His version contradicts the one of Jisha’s family members and neighbours, who said the murder occurred around 6 pm and the body was spotted by her mother around 8.30 pm

Major points from the postmortem report No 298/2016 dated 29/04/2016:

➤ The death was due to the combined effects of smothering, strangulation, multiple injuries sustained in the neck, abdomen and external genitalia.

➤ There was evidence of sexual assault

➤ Samples of blood, viscera, vaginal swabs and smear, rectal swab, buccal swab and smear gauze piece soaked in blood (air-dried) are preserved and sent for chemical examination

➤ Nail clippings from both hands, samples of pubic hair, scalp hair are handed over to CPO

➤ The Dept started the post-mortem at 3 pm and concluded at 6 pm, and the cremation was held at the Perumbavoor public crematorium by 8.30 on April 29.

➤ It takes around two hours travelling by road from Alappuzha to reach Kuruppampady in Perumbavoor. This means, the body was cremated in tearing hurry after the postmortem.
