Three arrested for violence during march to High Court

KOCHI: The Ernakulam Central Police have arrested three SDPI activists in connection with the attack on the police during a march organised to the Kerala High Court in protest against the court order in the Hadia case. The protest march was organised by the Muslim Ekopana Samithi on May 29.

The arrested are Ameen Moitheen, of Chittethukudi, Ayiroorpadam, Thrikariyur, Kothamangalam, his brother Noufan Moideen and Niyas Chittethukudi, Ayiroorpadam, Pindimana, of Kothamangalam. The three are the 32nd, 33rd and 34th accused, respectively.

The case against Muslim Ekopana Samithi activists was registered for threatening judges of the High Court, disrupting traffic on Banerji Road, and raising provocative slogans. The activists  attempted to prevent the duty of the policemen who tried to block the march. They pelted stones at the police and attacked them with wooden bars.
