THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: `Yugapurushan’, a film which portrays the life and vision of spiritual leader Sree Narayana Guru, will arrive at the theatres in the state on January 15.

 The film, produced under A.V.A Productions, is written and directed by R Sukumaran. Renowned South Indian actor Thalaivasal Vijay dons the role of Sree Narayana Guru in the film.

 Besides Sree Narayana Guru, his contemporaries like Kumaran Asan, Chattambi Swamikal, Dr Palpu, Ayyankali, T K Madhavan, Sahodaran Ayyappan, Mannath Padmanabhan, and C V Kunjuraman appear as characters in the film. Characters of Gandhiji and Tagore are also portrayed in the film.

 The film is an attempt to prove the relevance of Guru’s vision in the present day through an indepth study into his life, according to film makers.

 `Yugapurushan’ has all the ingredients of a commercial film like songs, humour, romance and fights. Mammootty and Kalabhavan Mani also star in the film. The other actors include Jagathy Sreekumar, Sai Kumar, Siddique, Devan, Babu Antony, Thambi Antony, Jishnu, George Paul, Navya Nair and Kalpana.

 The cinematography is by Ramachandra Babu, lyrics by Kaithaprom Damodaran Namboothiri, music by Mohan Sithara and art direction by K Krishnan Kutty. The film is brought to the theatres by A.V.A Releases.
