THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios Award-2008 instituted by the Association of Mar Ivanios  College Old Students (AMICOS) will be given to former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

 AMICOS president Abey George and College principal Fr M.G. Mathew said a jury  headed by DGP Jacob Punnose had selected Kalam for the award, which includes a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, citation and memento.

The other members of the jury included Dr Mohandas, Abey George and  Fr M.G. Mathew.

The award will be presented to Dr Kalam by the Major Archbishop Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos at a function to be held in the college auditorium on February 21 at 3.15 p.m.

 They said the diamond jubilee celebrations of the College will be  officially  inaugurated by Dr Kalam.
