THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Alkesh Kumar Sharma will be the new managing director of Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC).

 He is an graduate in Agriculture from Rajasthan Agricultural University and has taken MBA in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand.

 Alkesh Kumar Sharma, who belongs to the 1990 IAS batch, had served as the Collector of Malappuram and Thrissur districts during March 1999 to June 2001.Subsequently, he had tenures connected with tourism development in the state in various capacities like the Tourism Director, Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director and also as ex-officio special Tourism secretary.

During the period 2004 to 2006, he was the private secretary to the Union Minister of State for Housing and Poverty Alleviation.He also served as the National Project Director at the UNDP, INDIA, as in-charge of urban planning and urban poverty reduction strategy, tourism planning, marketing and management.
